Albert Edward Edmonds was born at Birchington, Kent on 20 Mar 1891. He claimed previous service with the East Kent Yeomanry and was employed as a clerk when he attested to the CEF on 18 May 1915 at Saskatoon. His number indicates that he enlisted in the 53rd Bn, CEF. That unit sailed for England on 29 Mar 1916 and was absorbed into the 15th Reserve Bn for dispersal within the reinforcement system.
