William Benson, born at Lambeth, London, 25 May 1890, a woodworker by trade, attested to the CEF at Kingston, Ont on 10 Aug 1915. At that time he claimed previous service in C Bty, RCHA. He was appointed Sergeant upon attestation. He served overseas in 2nd Bde, CFA, a unit of 1st Division Artillery, and was awarded the MM in that unit.
Sold with copy of his attestation paper from his LAC file. More research would be profitable.
