Walter Millner was born at Sheerness, Kent, England in Oct 1884. A resident of Toronto. He was employed as a chauffeur when he attested to the 92nd (48th Highlanders) Bn, CEF at Toronto on 17 Aug 1915. He had a wife and two children.
Once in the UK, he transferred to the CASC, served at the CASC Training Depot and thence to the Canadian Military Police at Shorncliffe. He underwent medical treatment for rubella and sycosis.
He was discharged on demobilization at Toronto on15 Jul 1919. He served throughout the war in England and this is thus his only medal. Medals to reinforcement units that were not part of the Cdn Corps are scarce.
