Charles Laganière was born at Deschambault, Portneuf, Que on 22 May 1896. A factory hand by trade, he was conscripted under the Military Service Act, 1917 at Montreal on 1 May 1918, and enrolled in the 2nd Depot Bn, 2nd Québec Regt.
He appears to have proceeded to England but not further to France. Thus, this is his only medal. Medals to reinforcement units that were not part of the Cdn Corps are scarce.
