James Allen Henry was born at St. Stephen, NB on 16 Feb 1889, was a labourer by trade, and was living at Plaster Rock, NB, when he attested to the 115th Bn, CEF at Saint John on 3 Feb 1916, becoming an original member of that unit. He sailed for England with the unit on 24 Jul 1916. He subsequently served in the field with the 26th (NB) Bn [5th Inf Bde, 2nd Div].
