Indonesia: Headhunter Sword - Dayak (Mandau), handle/grip is "L" shaped carved bone w/ natural fibre cord wrapping and black hair tufts on pommel and tip of "nose", 20 1/2 in blade is straight steel single edge, rt side is plain smooth steel, left side is ornamented w/ carved design and dot mks along cutting edge (trophy marks??); scabbard is 2-piece wood, carved w/ ornamental design on rt side w/ natural fibre bindings; c/w, belt of braided grass/reed material w/ loop end and bone toggle fastener. Similar things have been found on the internet but this is by far the best seen. Rare. $2500.
